Please consult race times displayed at the race centre (take a picture) and be at the race start at least 30 min before your race. We will endeavour to have water at the top for the riders in case they have to wait in the sun, however please take your own water.

Second Hand clothing: Kit can be expensive. Katrin has offered to provide a table for ‘for sale’ downhill clothing, accessories and equipment. Please attach a price tag with your name and phone number to each item. Hopefully this will connect the buyer with the owner of the goods and you may pay your money.

Shuttles: Please queue respectfully from the back of the lines. To reduce waiting time we are in need of parents who are able to drive shuttle vehicles or offer 4X2 with diff-lock or 4×4 vehicles that could be used, please laisse with Gareth Jones gjj.world@gmail.com / 083 291 1559.

Track walk: Myles Kelsey, a professional skills coach, will be on-hand all weekend to help any newbies and rookies unlock obstacles and help with any questions about bike setup. He will also post a POV run of the course on the Western Cape Instagram page, in the week leading up to the event so any new riders can get an idea of what is coming.

All riders are advised to do their own track walk ahead of the event.

CSA membership (runs for one calendar year) for 2021/2 …it is only R250. This is for everybody, it insures you and allows you to earn WC DH points. A day licence merely allows you to ride with us for the day and is essentially for a once-off newby. No points may be accumulated on a day licence. A compulsory day licence (R50.00) is available at registration for these non-competitive riders. https://www.cyclingsa.com/memberships/

Food: Graham, our resident coffee Guy will be there and Mark, our gourmet food truck, S-treat Food, offering delicious wraps (R40 – R60), bacon & egg rolls (R40), burgers (R60), soft drinks (R15) and Ague é Vida water. We are still looking for someone to sell ice lollies. A much appreciated treat.

Logistics: Cars park haphazardly in the vines and often restrict free movement. Please be aware that the roads are badly eroded. It is advisable to park at the bottom and walk (or catch the shuttle) up to the viewing areas. Please all take note of the logistics map at the end of this email. Vendors, please be aware that a ‘positional map’ will be distributed by Andre du Plessis for your stall/placement.

Direction: Please enter Zevenwacht from the Zevenwacht link road, turn right into Langverwacht Road, travel towards Zevenwacht going through two circles, (there are no signs) and where the road bends to go to Zevenwacht, there is a grass island in the middle of the road with trees, take the left turnoff (on the white wall) for Klein Zevenwacht. If you have gone through the Zevenwacht boom, you have gone too far. Security will direct you back down again. Proceed straight down the dirt road, you pass the Klein Zevenwaght entrance, continue to the dam, turn right and park in the parking area.
